Abstract

This paper analyses the study of Ganju community people and highlights social oppression and exclusion by the high class people. This novel centers on the Struggles of Dalit women and their oppressions. This brings out how the marginalised community and economically down- trodden people are oppressed by the higher class people in the same village. Mahaswetha Devi portrays the sufferings inflicted by the society on the downtrodden women who are abandoned by their families. It depicts the socio-economic system of Post-colonial India. This paper attempts to analyses the text through the gendered lens of 'women hood'. All the women portrayed in Rudali have undergone similar agony, humiliation, ecstasy, rejection and dejection. Rudali is a heart touching tale of the women in society whose life is fraught with poverty of numerous kinds. The woman suffers whether as a mother, wife, friend and grandmother. Mahaswetha Devi dealt with the great achievement in showing the fake nature of the society.
