Abstract

The TiO2(R) Nanoparticles were synthesised by the sol–gel method and characterized by powder X-ray diffraction(XRD) scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDS) spectra. The benzohydrazide derivatives (1-4) have been synthesized by using sol-gel prepared TiO2 (R) acting as a catalyst under solvent conditions and characterized by FT-IR, NMR and mass spectral studies. Antimicrobial studies were carried out against the bacterial strains viz., Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonasaeruginosa and fungal strains viz., Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger, Mucor and Rhizopus sp.
